And Breath

I am desperately desperately worried about my ex husband, he & his new wife have a really serious problem & I only wish I could help.
For the last few years they have managed to hide any profit they made from their business, they paid no tax & in fact were so poor, they managed to get their 6 bed, 3 reception house insulated for free (even though I don't qualify to get mine done).
Unfortunately in 2010 they made 70k profit & 2011 they made 90k profit.
They are in absolute despair, not only can they not claim any benefit they may have to pay tax, it is such a shame, I feel for them, I really do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those poor poor people! Maybe we should send them food parcels......or a cake with a file in it for when the tax man catches up with them. Karma is a wonderful, if sometimes slow moving, thing

Well put. Glad they have been caught.

Oh Hester, my pillow is wet with tears........hehehe! I know it's hard to look on the bright side, but the poor dears, at least will not be charged room and board in their nice, comfy jail cells.

there are a couple of people in out village like that. They own several houses and a pub; they never seem to make a profit; they claim all kinds of benefits and send their child to private school. Unbelievable it is. Seems so wrong.

Can you make sure the tax man knows where to find them!

Please, pass me on their details, I will gladly report them. What annoys me is that everyone seems to know someone who fiddles the tax man or benefits so why dont the people complaining do something about it?

Oh believe me I have reported them to the tax office & the benefits office, but nothing was done either time unfortunatly

The heart bleeds for them.

Reporting people to the benefits agency might seem like a waste of time, as nothing appears to be happening. Sometimes the wheels of justice turn very slowly. But surely.

Not only will they have to pay tax on the profit they have made, they will also have to pay a shed load in advance of the profit that the taxman anticipates them making in 2012 due to their new found success. Such a shame. Not.
