My last few posts really seem to have struck a few sore spots, I have a friend who is a TA, she also has had no training & regularly spends a whole day on her own supervising 3 children, all statemented.
Sizing
Can anybody explain why, when I buy ladies tights in mega fat, 7ft tall size, they come up to my ears (very warm, but inconvenient if one needs to move), but when I buy same size, mega fat, 7ft tall hold ups, they barely reach my knees? Now there is no way my calves are bigger than my bum, so what is the makers reasoning behind this. Maybe it is to dissuade mega fat 4'11 ladies like me from wearing hold ups!

I think that men who are obsessed with 7 ft tall super models with 3 inch circumference legs are designing tights. I have never understood why they make the stretch go lengthwise versus thighwise where pretty much everyone needs it. ;) You are not along in this problem. Love your blog!
I have the same problem, I bought hold=ups for my wedding to OH and spent the whole time praying they would not slip down and wrinkle round my ankles.
I have mostly given up wearing tights except for very special occasions where 'all the leg' needs to be covered. I wear knee highs under trousers and skirts. I tend to wear slightly longer skirts now than I used to.
hahahaa! i always find hold ups to be too long and i'm a touch taller than you. they give me nora batty knees :(
no explanation, as I am too busy laughing at all your comments.....

I have a 32" inside leg, but a short body. The larger tights on me hang low at the crotch but are long enough in the body to make a unitard. Hold ups come to just above the knee, but that's not a bad look depending what you're up to.
xx
Bought a 2-pack of gents shirts, same pack, one wouldn't fasten, the other went round me almost twice, same size (17) on the collars.
Same problem with trousers, although I can get shorter leg lengths now, I still can't rely on the size shown on the label.
And why do I insist on trying everything on before I buy it?
