Hyperbole

Hyperbole:-
(pronounced /hʌɪˈpəːbəli/[1], from ancient Greek "ὑπερβολή", meaning excess or exaggeration) is a figure of speech in which statements are exaggerated. It may be used to evoke strong feelings or to create a strong impression, but is not meant to be taken literally.

Hyperbole is used to create emphasis. It is a literary device often used in poetry, and is frequently encountered in casual speech. It is also a visual technique in which a deliberate exaggeration of a particular part of an image is employed. An example is the exaggeration of a person's facial feature in a political cartoon.

Food & Family

I decided to treat myself tonight, the Minder is on lates, so I had only myself to feed. I popped into Tesco as I went past & bought a cauliflower & had cauliflower cheese for tea & it was really delicious. There is plenty left & DS is coming for tea tomorrow so we will have sausage, mash & cauliflower cheese with onion gravy. DS spent last night in A & E, he had a car accident a while ago & eventually was in so much pain he phoned his sister, she took him to hospital & he has 3 broken ribs, one of them is a really bad break. He still went to work today though as they are shorthanded as one of the mechanics if on holiday for 2 weeks.

Bow

Remember Bow, she's our resident Batty Old Woman at work, she's having a very difficult time at the moment. Her son. who is 31 & still living at home, has decided to go away for a weeks holiday during the Christmas holiday. He has decided to go to Prague. Bow is beside herself, this is the 2nd time this year that he has gone away, on his own & booked it all on his own, she's really not sure if he should be allowed!

Bow is also very concerned about her husband, he has been promoted recently & his new job entails him spending one day a fortnight at head office, which is 400 miles away & therefore staying away alternate Tuesday nights, this is of course proof positive that he is cheating. Bow is throwing herself wholeheartedly into tears & tantrums. I can see that her hubby may soon revert to his previous job & give up his promotion as the stress of being in the centre of the maelstrom of all this emotion will eventually wear him out. Then she will go back to complaining that he has a crap job & no ambition. They have been married 37 years, he'd have got a lesser sentence for murder, lol.

Thumaturgy

Thaumaturgy:- (from the Greek words θαῦμα thaûma, stem thaumat-, meaning "miracle" or "marvel" and ἔργον érgon, meaning "work") is the capability of a saint or magician to work miracles. It is sometimes translated into English as wonderworking.[1] A practitioner of thaumaturgy is a thaumaturge or miracle worker.
